This Friday we are honored to welcome back Coach Jim Anderson as our Honorary Captain for the final home game in the very stadium he built.
Coach Anderson is the longest tenured football coach in Walton County history. For 16 seasons, he led the Bulldogs with unmatched dedication, shaping generations of players through his work ethic, integrity, and pride. His influence continues to live on in the foundation of our program and the spirit of both the Freeport community and Bulldog football.
Join us Friday night as we celebrate Coach Anderson and the lasting legacy he created at Freeport High School.
Life is great because you are a Dog, Coach.🧡💙

In Loving Memory of Mr. Miller....
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Band Director, Mr. Miller, who dedicated over 20 years to Freeport High School and most importantly, Freeport High School students.
Mr. Miller was more than a teacher—he was a mentor, leader, and friend whose passion for music inspired generations of students. An extremely gifted musician, he conducted the band and wrote his own shows and sets, pouring his talent and heart into every note and performance. He built the band, grew the band, and led the band to unwavering, sustained success at competitions and in everything the band was involved in.
Sometimes you don’t realize what you have until it’s gone. His passing leaves a huge hole in the heart of our school, one that cannot be filled. As the band continues forward, we encourage our community to support them as they honor his legacy through every performance.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the countless Bulldogs whose lives he touched. His music and legacy will forever echo in the halls of Freeport High School.

The FHS Drama Department put on a great performance of The Canterbury Tales with a dinner theatre performance on Saturday, April 19th. Friends and family joined Mr. Baker and his actors for a night of food, fun and entertainment. Thank you for those that participated in making this night a true success.

While most of us were on Spring Break, our Success Coach, Mr. Phillips and Coach Arntz met with the Freeport Merchants Association in the school media center. These partnerships are incredibly important to our success within our schools and our community. Freeport High School would like to say thank you to the Freeport Merchants Association for their continued interest and involvement in our schools.

Congratulations to the Freeport High School Concert Band and its members for an outstanding performance today at the Florida Bandmasters Association’s District 2 Concert Music Performance Assessment. The ensemble earned Straight Superior Ratings for their stage performance, for sight reading, and for their student conductor, Callie Mixon. Band Director, Michael Miller, couldn’t be prouder of the growth and maturity of this group of young musicians! Congratulations Freeport Concert Band!

Good Luck to our two State Wrestlers, Jacob Justice and Zolton Wilson! They will wrestle in Kissimmee this Thursday-Saturday March 6-8 representing FHS in the State Tournament.

It was a wonderful night at the TOY/ESPOY annual awards ceremony last night in DeFuniak Springs. Freeport High Schools own Mrs. Celeste Goodwin was selected as the Walton County School District ESP of the Year! Mrs. Goodwin is a wonderful example to all, as she works daily to improve the lives of others in a loving and kind manner. We are so fortunate that she is an integral part of the Freeport High School Family. (pictured: (L) Mrs. Celeste Goodwin, (R) Principal, Donna Simmons)

Congratulations to Freeport High School students Gracie St. Onge and Gabriela Bignami for qualifying at the Girls Weightlifting Regional Competition this past weekend and moving on to the State Competition in Lakeland, Florida later this month. Bulldog fans wish both of these young ladies' luck as they represent our school at the state level.

After collaborating with local and state weather experts, the Walton County School District has made the decision to close schools on both Tuesday and Wednesday, January 21 and 22 due to a Winter Storm. The closure includes students and employees as well as SPICE and extra curricular activities. Walton may begin to see precipitation to include ice on Tuesday afternoon which will make it unsafe for school buses to be on roads and bridges. Wednesday may continue to see freezing temperatures which may keep ice on the roadways. We will continue to monitor the weather, as safety is always our number one priority. At this time, we expect to be back at school on Thursday, January 23. Stay safe, and continue to stay engaged with your schools and our online platforms for more information.
