School Safety

Today, Freeport High School investigated a report made to the School Resource Deputy regarding a threat written on a restroom stall in the girls’ bathroom. The timeframe in which the message was written is unknown.

There is currently no evidence indicating an immediate danger to students or staff. Please be assured, school officials are taking this matter seriously and are working closely with local law enforcement and the Walton County School District to thoroughly investigate the written statement.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. As a precautionary measure, there will be an increased presence of law enforcement on campus, and security protocols have been reviewed and reinforced.

As with all threats, this matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness, and officials are working diligently to determine the origin and intent of the messages.

Parents, we ask that you speak with your students about the serious nature of inappropriate statements, comments, and/or threats that disrupt the school environment. Such actions will result in immediate and severe consequences in accordance with school and district policies, as well as possible legal consequences.
