Freeport High School would like to announce the following regarding Senior class awards, capping, and graduation.
Awards and Capping
On May 7th, Freeport High School will host its Senior awards and capping ceremony. Traditionally, this has been an indoor event. However, this year due to COVID restrictions, the ceremony will be held at the Freeport High School football stadium. Time to be determined.
If the ceremony cannot be held outside due to inclement weather, only the senior awards portion of the ceremony will continue in the gym. Seniors will receive four tickets in advance. Everyone entering must have a ticket. No additional tickets will be issued. This event will be livestreamed for those who wish to watch from home.
In the event of inclement weather, the capping ceremony will be postponed and held during school on May 14th (that is after the seniors last day, so they would return only for that ceremony). However, NO PARENTS will be allowed to attend the capping ceremony. It will also be livestreamed for viewing.
A traditional graduation ceremony will be held at the Freeport High School football stadium on May 20th at 7:00 PM. If plans change due to COVID, all parents and students will be notified immediately.
If the ceremony cannot be held outside due to inclement weather, all seniors will receive four tickets for graduation inside the gym. A livestream of the event will be available. The senior will also receive another four tickets to watch a livestream of graduation from inside the auditorium.
*everything subject to change depending on COVID-related WCSD and public health guidelines.
