Freeport High School students enrolled in Vanessa Bump’s AP Seminar course presented their research topics to fellow students and a panel of guests including District staff, and Superintendent A. Russell Hughes. Students on campus as well as virtual participants fielded questions from the audience on a wide-range of unique research topics including the influence of “big pharma”, public space smoking bans, and the “pink tax”. Students enrolled in the rigorous AP Capstone program take 2 specific courses in which they must work to complete an in-depth personal research project. Students must also take 4 other AP courses and pass the subsequent exams.
