For the second year in a row, Freeport High School has been recognized by the U.S. News & World Report as one of best high schools in the state of Florida.
Out of all high schools in Walton County, Freeport was the only high school to be ranked both locally and nationally.
Out of the three counties reported (Walton, Okaloosa and Santa Rosa School) which includes 17 high schools, Freeport High School was ranked 3rd behind Niceville High School and Choctawhatchee High School. Both schools are quadruple the size of FHS.

The U.S. News rankings include data on 894 Florida high schools, which are included in the total of 28,496 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. Some schools were not included on the Best High Schools rankings because they were too small or were missing data.
