Bay Elementary would like to congratulate the February Students of the Month. Reese Whitehead and Gip Crye have been selected to represent BES as the Kiwanis Students of the Month. Submitted by Cindy Stewart.

These students have earned the most Accelerated Reading points in their grade level and were rewarded with creaming Mrs. Spence!  Mrs. Spence was a good sport and happy she could play a part in encouraging students to read!!!  Additional photos may be found on WSCD's Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Walton-County-School-District-111628765567605/  Submitted by Cindy Stewart.

WMS Celebrates Literacy Week

January 30, 2017

Walton Middle School students had a blast celebrating literacy week January 23-27.  The themes for the week were as follows:  Monday--Hats off to Literacy (hat day); Tuesday--Hunting for a Good Book (camo day); Wednesday--Reading Takes You Back to the Future (favorite decade attire day); Thursday--We've Got Spirit (grade level color day); Friday--Team up with a Good Book (team attire day).  Students and faculty enjoyed showing their support for reading with a week of crazy and fun styles.  Submitted by Kristen Rhodes.

As part of literacy week, VRB students created a human bookworm throughout the hallways. Around 1100 students all joined together in the hallway to read for 20 minutes. All students were "connected" with each other, creating a bookworm. Submitted by Sherrie Binkowski.
